    History

    • July 1885

      Torakichi Komatsu The First, obtained a fireworks manufacturing license.

    • August 1885

      He obtained a permit for a fireworks manufacturing facility in Miyabayashi Shindenmura, Senboku-gun.

    • October 1890

      The fireworks manufacturing facility was relocated to Miyabayashi Shindenmura, Senboku-gun.

    • August 1910

      Torakichi The First and Miyaji The Second participated in the 1st Omagari Rokuken Fireworks Association (the forerunner of National Fireworks Competition Convention “Omagari fireworks”).

    • October 1927

      The fireworks manufacturing facility was relocated to Uchiotomo Miyabayashi Shindenmura, Senboku-gun.

    • September 1933

      Miyaji The Second took over the business. He changed the trade name to Komatsu Fireworks Store.

    • April 1941

      Fusanosuke The Third obtained a license for explosives work chief and took over the business.

    • February 1964

      Chuji The Fourth took over the business. He changed the trade name KOMATSU FIREWORKS CO., LTD.

    • October 1985

      The business was incorporated and KOMATSU FIREWORKS CO., LTD. was established. Chuji The Fourth becomes the representative director.

    • May 1990

      We received Excellent business award from the chairman of the Akita Prefectural Explosives Safety Association.

    • November 1994

      We received Excellent business award from the Chairman of the National Explosives Safety Association.

    • February 1999

      We received Regional promotion award from the chairman of the Traditional Craft Industry Promotion Association.

    • January 2000

      The company was reorganized into a joint-stock company.

    • November 2000

      We received the Explosives Safety Excellent Business Office Award from Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

    • May 2001

      We received the Omagari City Distinguished Service Award from the Mayor of Omagari.

    • January 2002

      Tadanobu The Fifth became the representative director.

    • October 2003

      Chuji The Fourth won the Akita Prefecture Excellent Skilled Award (master craftsman of Akita) .

    • December 2010

      Chuji The Fourth won the Outstanding Skills Award (contemporary master craftsman) .

    • August 2013

      We won The Prime Minister’s Award at the 87th National Fireworks Competition Convention “Omagari fireworks”.

    • May 2016

      We received The Small and Medium Enterprise Agency Award from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

    • December 2018

      We received Certification of Regional Future Leading Company Selection from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

    • January 2020

      Tadanobu the Fifth was certified as an Akita Prefecture craftsman by the Governor of Akita Prefecture.

    • December 2021

      We received Certification of SDGs (the Global Goals) partnership from the Governor of Akita Prefecture.
